Sebastian’s Story and Medication Errors

Summary: This forum informs participants on the chronological history and details of the medical errors and medication overdose that led to the death of Sebastian Ferrero with an understanding that systems errors can cause tragic events for the families involved. This session includes the personal learnings of Horst and Luisa and translates them into advice for healthcare providers in an effort to impart the importance of communication.

Purpose: To teach healthcare providers the importance of communication, patient safety and personal responsibility.
